Eribulin Mesylate falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Cesium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cesium concomitantly with other drugs that prolong the QT interval may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias and death.
Taking cesium can prolong the QT interval on electrocardiogram (ECG). In many cases, cesium-induced QT prolongation has led to serious adverse effects, including torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and death.

Here's the concern with combining cesium and your eribulin (Halaven) treatment. Eribulin can already stretch out a part of your heartbeat called the QT interval, which you may see noted on an ECG. Cesium does the very same thing, and it has been linked to dangerous rhythm problems, including a chaotic heartbeat called torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and even death. Stacking these two together can add up and raise that risk.

This isn't about cesium changing how eribulin is broken down. It's that both push your heart rhythm in the same risky direction. Honestly, cesium has no proven benefit and real dangers, so please don't add it. Talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before taking any supplement during chemo.

What is Cesium?

What Is Eribulin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Halaven

Eribulin mesylate injection (brand name Halaven) is used to treat metastatic breast cancer in patients who have already received at least two prior chemotherapy regimens for metastatic disease, including an anthracycline and a taxane. It is also approved for unresectable or metastatic liposarcoma in patients who have received a prior anthracycline-containing regimen.

Both uses are for advanced cancers that have already been treated with other therapies. This is not a first-line treatment — it is used when the cancer has progressed despite earlier chemotherapy.
