Here's the concern with pairing Sida cordifolia and eribulin (Halaven). Eribulin is already known to stretch out part of your heart's electrical cycle, something doctors call the QT interval. Sida cordifolia naturally contains ephedrine, a stimulant that can do the same thing. Stack the two together and you may get an additive effect, which in rare cases can lead to a dangerous, irregular heartbeat.

Eribulin isn't a prodrug, so this isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. It's two things nudging your heart rhythm in the same risky direction. The evidence here is partly theoretical and borrowed from a related herb, but given that eribulin is chemotherapy and the heart risk is serious, I'd avoid this combination and check with your oncologist or pharmacist first.

What Is Eribulin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Halaven

Eribulin mesylate injection (brand name Halaven) is used to treat metastatic breast cancer in patients who have already received at least two prior chemotherapy regimens for metastatic disease, including an anthracycline and a taxane. It is also approved for unresectable or metastatic liposarcoma in patients who have received a prior anthracycline-containing regimen.

Both uses are for advanced cancers that have already been treated with other therapies. This is not a first-line treatment — it is used when the cancer has progressed despite earlier chemotherapy.
