Mifepristone falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Sida Cordifolia interacts with.

Theoretically, Sida cordifolia might increase the risk of additive QT interval prolongation when taken with QT interval-prolonging drugs.
Sida cordifolia contains ephedrine. Clinical research shows that ephedrine from another herb, ephedra, can prolong the QT interval.

Here's the concern when you pair Sida cordifolia with mifepristone (Korlym). This isn't a metabolism issue where one changes the other's levels. Instead, both can stretch out the heart's electrical reset time, what doctors call the QT interval. Mifepristone on its own already carries a warning for QT prolongation, and Sida cordifolia contains ephedrine, a stimulant shown to do the same thing. Stacking the two together could add up.

A longer QT can, in rare cases, trigger a dangerous irregular heartbeat with symptoms like fainting, palpitations, or dizziness. The direct evidence for Sida cordifolia here is mostly theoretical, drawn from related ephedra research, so I'm not trying to scare you. Still, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining these.

What Is Mifepristone (Korlym) Used For?

Brand names: Mifeprex, Korlym

Korlym is prescribed for adults with endogenous Cushing's syndrome — a condition where the body produces too much cortisol — who also have type 2 diabetes or trouble controlling blood sugar. It works to bring those blood sugar levels under control.

It is only for blood sugar problems that are directly caused by Cushing's syndrome. It should not be used to treat ordinary type 2 diabetes unrelated to this condition.
