Theoretically, Sida cordifolia might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects when taken with stimulant drugs.
Sida cordifolia contains ephedrine. Drugs with CNS stimulant properties, such as phenylpropanolamine, pseudoephedrine, and diethylpropion, and many others can increase the risk of hypertension and adverse cardiovascular effects when taken with ephedrine.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo: Sida cordifolia naturally contains ephedrine, a stimulant that revs up your heart and raises your blood pressure. Modafinil is also a wake-promoting medicine with stimulant-like effects. Stacking two stimulants on top of each other can add up, so the worry here is on the cardiovascular side, things like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, anxiety, headache, or trouble sleeping.

I'll be honest with you, this concern is theoretical and based on how these two work rather than solid human studies. Still, since both are stimulants, I'd treat the caution seriously. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Check with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially if you have any heart or blood pressure history.

What Is Modafinil Used For?

Brand names: Provigil, Sparlon, Alertec

Modafinil (also sold as Provigil) is used to improve wakefulness in adults who experience excessive sleepiness due to narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), or shift work disorder (SWD).

In OSA, modafinil treats the sleepiness — not the underlying airway obstruction itself. It is used alongside standard treatments such as CPAP (a breathing device worn during sleep), not as a replacement for them. If CPAP is appropriate for you, your doctor will want you to use it consistently even while taking modafinil.
