Here's the thing to know if you use pork insulin and are thinking about Sida cordifolia. This plant contains ephedrine, a stimulant, and studies show ephedrine can nudge blood sugar levels upward. Insulin works in the opposite direction by lowering your blood sugar, so the two can end up working against each other.

In plain terms, the supplement may make your insulin feel less effective, meaning your numbers could run higher than usual even on your normal dose. This is mostly a theoretical concern, but ephedrine also strains the heart and raises blood pressure, which is the bigger worry. Please don't change your insulin on your own. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.
