Here's the thing to keep in mind if you take alogliptin (Nesina) for your type 2 diabetes. Sida cordifolia naturally contains ephedrine, a stimulant that can actually nudge your blood sugar upward. Since the whole point of alogliptin is to bring those numbers down, taking the two together could work against each other and leave your blood sugar higher than you'd like.

In plain terms, this isn't a dangerous chemical clash inside your body. It's more of a tug-of-war: your medicine pulls sugar down while the supplement may push it back up, so your alogliptin might not feel like it's doing its job. The evidence here is fairly modest, but ephedrine raising glucose is well documented. Honestly, this supplement carries heart and blood pressure risks on its own, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.
