Here's the concern with pairing cesium and methazolamide. Methazolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor used for glaucoma, and like the diuretic family it sits in, it tends to push potassium out of your body. Cesium chloride has its own track record of dropping potassium too, based on a number of case reports. Stack the two and your potassium could fall lower than it should.

Low potassium isn't something to shrug off. It can cause muscle weakness, cramping, fatigue, and dangerous heart rhythm problems, and cesium itself is already known to trigger serious heart rhythm trouble. Honestly, I'd steer clear of cesium entirely, since it has no proven benefit and real risks. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything with your methazolamide.

What is Cesium?

Cesium chloride is a mineral salt sold as an alternative cancer therapy ('high pH therapy'), but there is no reliable scientific evidence that it treats cancer or any other disease. It can cause dangerous heart rhythm problems and even death, so it should not be used. What Is Methazolamide Used For?

Brand name: Neptazane

Methazolamide tablets are used to treat eye conditions where lowering intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) is expected to help. These include chronic open-angle glaucoma and secondary glaucoma.

Methazolamide tablets are also used before surgery in acute angle-closure glaucoma, when reducing eye pressure ahead of the procedure is needed. Note that long-term use in angle-closure glaucoma is not appropriate.
