Drug & supplement interaction

Hypnotherapy + Cefoxitin

Cefoxitin brand name: Mefoxin.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Hypnotherapy and Cefoxitin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Hypnotherapy and Cefoxitin

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Cefoxitin and Hypnotherapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Hypnotherapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Hypnotherapy at all — not against Cefoxitin, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Hypnotherapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Hypnotherapy and Cefoxitin May Share a Side Effect

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so having Hypnotherapy while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

Reported for Hypnotherapy but not commonly for Cefoxitin: anxiety or restlessness, drowsiness, headache and dizziness.

Effects for Cefoxitin come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for Hypnotherapy come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 1,373 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Cefoxitin that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

Hypnotherapy in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Pregnancy Possibly Safe

When hypnotherapy is used appropriately. Use of self-hypnosis during labor following teaching sessions during pregnancy has not been shown to affect birthweight, well-being of the newborn, admission or re-admission for neonatal care, maternal stay in the hospital, readmission to hospital, lactation establishment, or ability to care for the infant. However, the use of hypnotherapy should not delay the time to diagnosis or treatment with more proven therapies.

“Cefoxitin (Mefoxin) is an injectable antibiotic, usually given in a hospital or clinic for serious infections, and its supplement list deserves genuine care rather than a quick skim. About Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Pain management
  • Smoking cessation
  • Sleep problems
  • Habit and weight management

Hypnotherapy is a mind-body technique where a trained therapist guides you into a focused, relaxed state to help you change thoughts, feelings, or behaviors. It is not a supplement or herb, and when done by a qualified professional it is generally considered safe. Evidence is strongest for conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and certain types of pain, but results vary from person to person.

Not applicable (mind-body therapy) · Sessions with a trained therapist, self-hypnosis, audio recordings, guided apps

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Hypnotherapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Hypnotherapy record says about it on its own.

Hypnotherapy: dosing

There is no standard "dose" for hypnotherapy because it is a therapy, not a substance. Treatment is usually given as a series of sessions with a trained therapist, and the number of sessions varies based on your goals and the condition being treated. Many programs involve several weekly sessions, and you may also practice self-hypnosis or use guided recordings between visits. Follow the plan recommended by your qualified provider.

About Cefoxitin Injection

What Is Cefoxitin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Mefoxin

Cefoxitin for Injection and Dextrose Injection is used to treat bacterial infections in many parts of the body, including the lungs (pneumonia), urinary tract, abdomen, female reproductive system, bloodstream (septicemia), bones and joints, and skin. It works only against bacteria — not viruses.

Cefoxitin for Injection and Dextrose Injection is also used to prevent infection in people having certain surgeries, including gastrointestinal surgery, vaginal hysterectomy, abdominal hysterectomy, or cesarean section. It does not have activity against Chlamydia trachomatis, so additional medication may be needed when that germ is suspected.

Most-Reported Side Effects for Cefoxitin

From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (1,373 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Drug resistance 90 reports
Nausea 80 reports
Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms 79 reports
