Jaborandi + Clopidogrel
Clopidogrel brand name: Plavix.
We found no known interaction between Jaborandi and Clopidogrel in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Jaborandi and Clopidogrel
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Clopidogrel and Jaborandi in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Jaborandi at all — not against Clopidogrel, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

About Jaborandi
What is Jaborandi?
- Dry mouth (xerostomia)
- Glaucoma and high eye pressure
- Promoting sweating
- Increasing saliva production
- Traditional remedy for various ailments
Jaborandi is a South American plant best known as the natural source of pilocarpine, a drug used in modern medicine for glaucoma and dry mouth. The raw herb is potent and potentially toxic, so it is not something to use casually as a home remedy. If you need its effects, use the FDA-approved pilocarpine products prescribed by your doctor rather than the crude plant.
Pilocarpus microphyllus · Rutaceae · Leaves · Standardized pharmaceutical extract (pilocarpine), eye drops, tablets, and historically as a tea or tincture
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Jaborandi is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Jaborandi record says about it on its own.
Jaborandi: dosing
There is no established safe dose for the crude Jaborandi herb, and we do not recommend self-dosing with the raw plant because its potency is unpredictable and it can be toxic. The purified drug pilocarpine is a different story — it comes in carefully measured tablets and eye drops with doses set by a doctor.

About Clopidogrel
What Is Clopidogrel Used For?
Brand name: Plavix
Clopidogrel tablets are used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — including unstable angina and non-ST-elevation or ST-elevation heart attacks — and in people with a history of recent heart attack, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease. For ACS, it is typically given alongside aspirin.
It works by preventing platelets (blood cells that trigger clotting) from clumping together, which helps keep arteries open and lowers the chance of a dangerous clot forming.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Clopidogrel
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (0 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
