Peppermint + Buspirone
Buspirone brand name: BuSpar.
Peppermint has a moderate interaction with Buspirone. Theoretically, peppermint might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Buspirone
Buspirone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Peppermint interacts with.
Clinical research in healthy volunteers shows that a single dose of peppermint oil 600 mg inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes and increases the AUC of felodipine, a CYP3A4 substrate. However, in vitro research suggests that peppermint oil only inhibits CYP3A4 at very high concentrations.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear buspirone out. Concentrated peppermint oil can slow that enzyme down a bit, so the buspirone may not break down as quickly and could build up in your system. With more drug hanging around, you might feel side effects more strongly, things like drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or a bit of nausea.
I want to keep this in perspective, though. The evidence here is on the weaker side, and the effect was seen with a real supplement dose of peppermint oil (around 600 mg), not the small amount you'd get from a mint tea or a piece of candy. If you're taking peppermint oil capsules regularly, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up so they can keep an eye on how you're doing.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Buspirone page
“I counsel genuine caution when supplements meet buspirone (BuSpar), the anxiety medication, because four of its 155 documented interactions are rated major. The bulk of the list, 121 ingredients, changes how your liver clears buspirone through the CYP3A4 enzyme, pushing its level up toward dizziness and drowsiness or down until the anx…”

About Buspirone
What Is Buspirone Used For?
Brand name: BuSpar
Buspirone tablets and capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders or to relieve anxiety symptoms in the short term. Its effectiveness has been shown in clinical trials focused on Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) — a condition marked by persistent, hard-to-control worry along with physical symptoms like muscle tension, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems.
Buspirone has also been shown to relieve anxiety in people who have mild depressive symptoms alongside their anxiety. Everyday stress and tension, on their own, generally do not require treatment with a medicine like buspirone.
