Relaxation Therapy and Meloxicam

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Meloxicam and Relaxation Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Relaxation Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Relaxation Therapy at all — not against Meloxicam, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Relaxation Therapy is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Meloxicam’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. • Heart failure Worth acting on
  • A severe skin reaction Worth acting on

Showing the 10 most notable of 28 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Meloxicam. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 57,978 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Meloxicam that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Relaxation Therapy’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Relaxation Therapy side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Relaxation Therapy has no side effects.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. See Every Supplement That Interacts With Meloxicam

This page covers Relaxation Therapy only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Meloxicam page lists 113 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Meloxicam page

“Most people take meloxicam (Mobic) daily for arthritis pain, which gives supplement interactions time to add up, so I read this list with real vigilance. Five of the 113 ingredients on file carry a major rating, and two are simply beer and wine, because alcohol plus any NSAID raises the odds of stomach bleeding.”

About Relaxation Therapy

What is Relaxation Therapy?

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Chronic pain
  • High blood pressure
  • Headaches
  • Calming before medical procedures

Relaxation therapy is a group of mind-body techniques—like deep breathing, guided imagery, and progressive muscle relaxation—used to reduce stress and promote calm. It is low-risk for most people and has moderate evidence for easing anxiety, stress, and some pain or sleep problems. It is best used alongside, not instead of, standard medical care.

Not applicable (mind-body practice) · Guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, autogenic training, biofeedback, meditation

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Relaxation Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Relaxation Therapy record says about it on its own.

Relaxation Therapy: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for relaxation therapy. Many programs suggest practicing for about 10 to 20 minutes once or twice a day, but what matters most is regular, consistent practice. You can use guided apps, audio recordings, classes, or work one-on-one with a therapist or biofeedback specialist.

About Meloxicam

What Is Meloxicam Used For?

Brand names: Mobic, Vivlodex, Qmiiz ODT, Anjeso

Meloxicam tablets and oral suspension treat the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). The oral suspension and Zybic™ oral suspension are approved for JRA in children 2 years and older; meloxicam tablets are approved for JRA in patients who weigh at least 60 kg. Meloxicam capsules are approved specifically for the management of osteoarthritis pain.

Two IV (intravenous) formulations — QAMZOVA and XIFYRM — are indicated for adults for the management of moderate-to-severe pain, used alone or with non-NSAID pain relievers. Because these IV forms take time to reach full effect, they are not recommended when rapid pain relief is needed.
