Epirubicin falls under ANTITUMOR ANTIBIOTICS — the group Rose Hip interacts with.

Theoretically, the antioxidant effects of rose hip might reduce the effectiveness of antitumor antibiotics.
Rose hip contains the antioxidant vitamin C. There is concern that antioxidants might reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals, such as antitumor antibiotics. In contrast, other researchers theorize that antioxidants might make antitumor antibiotic chemotherapy more effective by reducing oxidative stress that could interfere with apoptosis (cell death) of cancer cells. More evidence is needed to determine what effects, if any, antioxidants such as vitamin C have on antitumor antibiotic chemotherapy.

Here's the thinking behind this one. Epirubicin (Ellence) is a chemo drug that partly works by creating free radicals, unstable molecules that damage and kill cancer cells. Rose hip is loaded with antioxidants like vitamin C, and antioxidants do the opposite of free radicals, they mop them up. So the concern is that concentrated rose hip supplements might blunt some of epirubicin's tumor-fighting power.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. It's a theory based on how these compounds behave, not proven in people, and some researchers actually think antioxidants could help. With cancer treatment, though, I never want to guess. Eating rose hip in a tea or food likely isn't the issue, but before starting any rose hip supplement, please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Ellence (epirubicin), given as an intravenous injection, is used as part of adjuvant (post-surgery) combination chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer who have evidence of tumor involvement in the axillary lymph nodes (lymph nodes under the arm) following surgical removal of the primary tumor.

It is not used alone — Ellence is always given as part of a multi-drug regimen alongside other chemotherapy agents.
