Here is the thing to know: Peri-Colace already contains a stimulant laxative (casanthranol) along with a stool softener (docusate). Senna is also a stimulant laxative. So when you take both, you are essentially stacking two stimulant laxatives on top of each other, and that can add up.

This concern is theoretical, based on how these products work rather than strong studies, so I do not want to alarm you. But doubling up could mean more cramping, loose or watery stools, and over time too much loss of fluid and important salts like potassium. You might feel weak, dizzy, or dehydrated. Honestly, you usually do not need both at once. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially for more than a couple of days.
