Here's the thing to know: Peri-Colace already contains a stimulant laxative (casanthranol) along with a stool softener (docusate). Jalap is itself a very harsh stimulant laxative. So you'd basically be stacking two bowel stimulants on top of each other, which pushes the gut much harder than either one alone.

The real worry isn't a chemical clash in your liver, it's the combined effect on your body. Together they can cause heavy diarrhea, strong cramping, and meaningful loss of fluid and electrolytes like potassium and sodium. That can leave you dehydrated, dizzy, weak, or with an irregular heartbeat. This concern is based on how these laxatives work rather than hard studies, but the logic is solid.
