Cryptenamine, Methyclothiazide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Jalap interacts with.

Jalap has diuretic effects. Overuse of jalap might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss. There is some concern that people taking jalap along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia.
Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.

Your Diutensen contains methyclothiazide, which is a thiazide-type water pill. One of its known effects is that it pushes potassium out of your body through the urine. Jalap is a harsh herbal laxative that causes heavy diarrhea, and losing a lot of fluid that way can drain potassium too. So the worry here is simple addition: two things tugging your potassium down at the same time.

If potassium drops too low, you might notice muscle cramps, weakness, tiredness, or an irregular heartbeat. To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how these two work rather than strong studies. Still, jalap is rough on the body and rarely needed. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
