Here's the thinking behind this one. Sutimlimab (Enjaymo) is an antibody given by infusion that quiets down part of your immune system, specifically the classical complement pathway, to keep your body from destroying its own red blood cells in cold agglutinin disease. Shark cartilage, on the other hand, has shown in lab dish studies that it might nudge the immune system to be more active. In theory, those two pull in opposite directions, so the worry is that shark cartilage could blunt how well sutimlimab works.

I want to be honest though: this is purely theoretical and has never been seen in actual people. Since sutimlimab is doing important work to protect your red blood cells, I'd skip shark cartilage (which isn't proven to help anything anyway) and check with your doctor first.

What Is Sutimlimab-jome Injection Used For?

Brand name: Enjaymo

Enjaymo (sutimlimab-jome) injection is indicated for the treatment of hemolysis — the breakdown of red blood cells — in adults with cold agglutinin disease (CAD). CAD is a rare autoimmune condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys red blood cells, especially in cold temperatures.

Enjaymo works to stop this destruction by targeting a key part of the immune system called the classical complement pathway. It is approved for adults only; safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
