Siddha and Tedizolid Phosphate

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Tedizolid Phosphate and Siddha in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Siddha at all — not against Tedizolid Phosphate, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Siddha safety at a glance

Siddha overall Use caution Some Siddha products contain metals or minerals that may pose health risks, so quality and source matter a great deal.
Pregnancy Avoid Avoid during pregnancy because contents and safety are not well established and some products may contain heavy metals.
Breastfeeding Avoid Avoid while breastfeeding due to unclear safety and possible contamination with heavy metals.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Tedizolid Phosphate’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Siddha. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Tedizolid Phosphate’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 8 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Serotonin syndrome Worth acting on
  • Anemia Worth acting on mentioned in 6.4% of FDA reports for Tedizolid Phosphate
  • Raised blood pressure Worth acting on
  • Hives Worth acting on
  • A low white blood cell count Worth acting on
  • Liver problems Worth acting on
  • A higher chance of infection Worth acting on
  • An allergic reaction Worth acting on
  • Flushing
  • Blurred vision

Showing the 10 most notable of 21 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Tedizolid Phosphate. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 785 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Tedizolid Phosphate that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Siddha’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Siddha side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Siddha has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tedizolid Phosphate page

“Nearly every supplement interaction on file for tedizolid phosphate (Sivextro), an antibiotic used for serious skin infections, points the same way. The antibiotic can kill the live organisms in probiotic products, which weakens the probiotic, not the drug.”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Siddha is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).

  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Siddha

What is Siddha?

  • General wellness and disease prevention
  • Digestive complaints
  • Skin conditions
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Respiratory issues
  • Chronic conditions like diabetes

Siddha is not a single supplement but one of India's traditional systems of medicine, mostly practiced in South India, which uses herbal, mineral, and metal-based remedies. Scientific evidence for most Siddha products is limited, and some preparations have raised safety concerns over heavy metals, so talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using any Siddha remedy.

Not applicable (a traditional system of medicine, not a single herb) · Herbal-mineral formulations, churnas (powders), kashayams (decoctions), tablets, oils, and metallic/mineral preparations (bhasmas/chenduram)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Siddha is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Siddha record says about it on its own.

Siddha: dosing

There is no standardized, scientifically established dose for Siddha products because they include many different formulas and ingredients. Dosing in traditional practice depends on the practitioner and the specific remedy. If you choose to use a product, follow the directions on the label and use it only under the guidance of a qualified practitioner and your regular doctor or pharmacist. Choose products from reputable sources that test for heavy metals and contaminants when possible.Do not take more than directed, and do not give these products to children without professional advice.
