Here's the simple version: zopiclone is already a sleep medicine that calms your brain down. Skullcap is thought to do something similar, possibly by nudging the same calming GABA signals. So when you take them together, the worry isn't that one breaks the other down, it's that their relaxing effects can stack on top of each other.

In real life that could mean feeling extra drowsy, groggy or unsteady the next morning, more trouble concentrating, or a higher chance of stumbling, especially if you get up overnight. I'll be honest, this is mostly based on lab and animal research, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, since both target sleep and alertness, please run this combination by your pharmacist or doctor first.
