Slimfast Diet + Treprostinil (Oral)
Treprostinil (Oral) brand names: Remodulin, Orenitram.
We found no known interaction between Slimfast Diet and Treprostinil (Oral) in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Slimfast Diet and Treprostinil (Oral)
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Treprostinil (Oral) and Slimfast Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Slimfast Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Slimfast Diet at all — not against Treprostinil (Oral), and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Slimfast Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Treprostinil (Oral)
This page covers Slimfast Diet only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Treprostinil (Oral) page lists 291 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), American Hellebore (major), American Mistletoe (major), Danshen (major) and Piracetam (major).
By severity: 6 major · 258 moderate · 27 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Treprostinil (Oral) page
“With treprostinil (Orenitram), a medicine that opens narrowed lung arteries in pulmonary arterial hypertension, supplements deserve more scrutiny than usual. The drug widens blood vessels and dampens platelet clumping, and nearly everything on this list leans on one of those two levers.”

About Slimfast Diet
What is Slimfast Diet?
- Weight loss
- Weight maintenance
- Meal replacement
- Calorie control
- Convenient on-the-go nutrition
SlimFast is a commercial brand of meal-replacement shakes, bars, and snacks designed to help with weight loss by controlling daily calories. It is not an herb or single supplement, and while structured meal-replacement plans can help some people lose weight in the short term, long-term success depends on overall diet and lifestyle. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting if you have a medical condition such as diabetes.
Not applicable (commercial meal-replacement product, not a plant) · Ready-to-drink shakes, shake powders, meal-replacement bars, and snack products
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Slimfast Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Slimfast Diet record says about it on its own.
Slimfast Diet: dosing
There is no medicinal "dose" for SlimFast because it is a food product. Instead, follow the plan and serving sizes printed on the product label. A common approach is replacing one or two meals a day with a SlimFast shake or bar, eating one balanced meal, and having a small snack or two.Drink plenty of water and aim to keep your overall diet balanced.

About Treprostinil
What Is Treprostinil Used For?
Brand names: Remodulin, Orenitram
Treprostinil treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Depending on the product and route, it is used to improve exercise ability, delay disease progression, or reduce symptoms tied to physical activity. Remodulin and treprostinil injection products are also indicated for patients who need to transition away from another PAH medicine called epoprostenol.
Tyvaso, Tyvaso DPI, and Yutrepia (inhaled forms) are additionally approved to treat pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3) — lung-pressure problems caused by scarring or inflammation in the lung tissue itself. Orenitram (extended-release oral tablet) is specifically indicated to delay disease progression and improve exercise capacity in PAH.

Treprostinil (Oral) Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Treprostinil (Oral) as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Slimfast Diet — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
