Here's the gist for Viberzi (eluxadoline): slippery elm forms a slick, gel-like coating in your stomach and gut. The concern is that this coating could physically slow down or block how well eluxadoline gets absorbed, leaving a bit less in your system. Since eluxadoline works locally and is already poorly absorbed, lower levels could mean it doesn't calm your IBS-D symptoms (cramping, loose stools) quite as well.

This is a theoretical caution based on how mucilage behaves, not on real-world reports, so don't panic. To be safe, you can simply separate them by a couple of hours rather than taking both at once. Check with your pharmacist before pairing them, and don't stop either one on your own.
