We found no known interaction between Spiny Restharrow and Lioresal in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Spiny Restharrow and Lioresal
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Lioresal and Spiny Restharrow in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Lioresal
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Lioresal is filed under 3 classifications — baclofen, skeletal muscle relaxants, seizure threshold lowering drugs. Spiny Restharrow has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being lithium (moderate) — and none of Lioresal’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Lioresal
This page covers Spiny Restharrow only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Lioresal page lists 10 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Procaine (major), Biofeedback (moderate), Dendrobium (moderate), Ginkgo (moderate) and Lithium (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 9 moderate.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lioresal page
“Lioresal is baclofen, a muscle relaxant prescribed for spasticity, and I would treat its supplement list with genuine care. Of the ten ingredients on file, six, including everyday picks like melatonin and ginkgo, may lower the seizure threshold, an added worry with a drug whose abrupt changes can already provoke seizures.”

About Spiny Restharrow
What is Spiny Restharrow?
- Increasing urine flow (mild diuretic)
- Flushing the urinary tract
- Mild bladder and kidney complaints
- Fluid retention
- Traditional support for skin and joint complaints
Spiny Restharrow is a traditional European herb whose root has long been used as a mild diuretic to help flush the urinary tract. Solid human evidence for its benefits is very limited, so any effect remains unproven. If you want to try it, talk with a pharmacist or doctor first, especially if you have kidney, heart, or fluid-balance concerns.
Ononis spinosa · Fabaceae · Root (and sometimes the aerial/flowering parts) · Tea (dried root), tinctures, liquid extracts, capsules
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Spiny Restharrow is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Spiny Restharrow record says about it on its own.
Spiny Restharrow: dosing
There is no well-established standardized dose for Spiny Restharrow. Traditional use mainly involves a tea made from the dried root, but exact amounts vary widely between products and references. The safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed them.

About Baclofen
What Is Baclofen Used For?
Brand name: Lioresal Injection
Baclofen treats spasticity, which means stiff, tight muscles with spasms. Oral baclofen (tablets, Baclofen oral solution, Ozobax, Baclofen oral suspension, Fleqsuvy, Lyvispah) is used for spasticity from multiple sclerosis, especially flexor spasms with pain, clonus (rhythmic jerking) and muscle rigidity. It may also help some people with spinal cord injuries and other spinal cord diseases.
Intrathecal baclofen (Gablofen, Lioresal Intrathecal and other baclofen injections) is used for severe spasticity. It is given into the fluid around the spinal cord, usually through an implanted pump. It is not for skeletal muscle spasm from rheumatic disorders, and baclofen tablets are not recommended for stroke, cerebral palsy or Parkinson’s disease.
