The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Sulbutiamine and Sarilumab in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Sulbutiamine and Sarilumab

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Sarilumab and Sulbutiamine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Sulbutiamine at all — not against Sarilumab, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Sulbutiamine Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Sarilumab. It is the side-effect record for Sulbutiamine on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Sulbutiamine, this list is the first place to look.

  • Tremor or shakiness / Drowsiness / Trouble sleeping / Headache Additional detail

“Cases of headache, insomnia, tremor, and drowsiness were each reported in one patient (0.06% of patients) using a combination of anti-infective medication and sulbutiamine.”

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Sulbutiamine — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Sarilumab’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Sarilumab column appears here.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Sarilumab page

“Sarilumab (Kevzara) works by quieting an overactive immune system in rheumatoid arthritis, and most of the supplements on this page push the other way. Immune stimulants such as ashwagandha, astragalus, and American ginseng could in theory blunt the drug's benefit and let joint symptoms creep back.”

About Sulbutiamine

What is Sulbutiamine?

  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Memory and focus
  • Mental clarity
  • Mood support
  • Vitamin B1 deficiency support

Sulbutiamine is a man-made, fat-soluble form of vitamin B1 (thiamine) developed in Japan, often taken for fatigue and to support mental energy and focus. Human evidence is limited and mostly older or small, so its real benefits are uncertain. It is generally well tolerated short-term, but you should talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a health condition.

Synthetic compound (not from a plant) · Tablets, capsules

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Sulbutiamine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Sulbutiamine record says about it on its own.

Sulbutiamine: dosing

There is no firmly established standard dose for sulbutiamine as a supplement. Amounts used in older studies and on product labels vary, and there is not enough strong evidence to recommend one clear dose. The safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not take more than suggested.

What Is Sarilumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Kevzara

Kevzara (sarilumab) injection is approved for three conditions. In adults, it treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when at least one other disease-modifying drug hasn't worked well enough or caused intolerance. It also treats polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults who haven't responded adequately to corticosteroids or who can't tolerate tapering them.

Kevzara is also approved for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) — a form of childhood arthritis — but only in patients who weigh 63 kg (about 139 lbs) or more. It is not approved for pediatric patients below that weight due to the lack of an appropriate dosage form.
