No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Tormentil and Flibanserin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Tormentil and Flibanserin

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Flibanserin and Tormentil in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Tormentil at all — not against Flibanserin, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Tormentil Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Flibanserin. It is the side-effect record for Tormentil on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Tormentil, this list is the first place to look.

  • Heartburn / Stomach pain Additional detail

“Orally, tormentil has been reported to cause mild abdominal pain, heartburn, and feelings of fullness in one clinical trial. These adverse effects occurred at the same frequency for doses ranging from 1.2 grams daily to 3 grams daily.”

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Tormentil — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Flibanserin’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Flibanserin column appears here.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Flibanserin page

“Flibanserin (Addyi) is a nightly pill for low sexual desire in premenopausal women, and because it is sedating and can lower blood pressure, its supplement list deserves genuine care; nine of the 199 entries rate major, and those are the ones to learn first. About Tormentil

What is Tormentil?

  • Diarrhea
  • Mouth and throat inflammation
  • Mild digestive upset
  • Sore throat (gargle)
  • Minor wounds and skin irritation

Tormentil is a traditional herb whose root is rich in tannins and has long been used for diarrhea and as a mouth rinse for sore gums or throat. Some small studies suggest it may help shorten diarrhea, but overall evidence is limited and quality is low. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding because safety is not established.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Tormentil is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Tormentil record says about it on its own.

Tormentil: dosing

There is no official, standardized dose for tormentil, and products vary widely in strength. Tinctures, extracts, teas, and capsules will each have different recommended amounts. The safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed them. If you are using it as a mouth rinse, do not swallow large amounts.
