Olmesartan Medoxomil falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Tribulus interacts with.

Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.

Here's the short version: Tribulus may gently lower blood pressure on its own. Since Benicar (olmesartan) is already working to bring your blood pressure down, stacking the two could push it lower than you want. The thinking is that some compounds in Tribulus may relax blood vessels, much like your medication does, so the effects can add up.

If your pressure drops too far, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or off-balance, especially when standing up quickly. I'll be honest with you though, this is mostly based on animal studies and a small human signal, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Please don't change your olmesartan on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding Tribulus.

What Is Olmesartan Used For?

Brand names: Olmesartan Medoxomil, Benicar

Olmesartan treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children aged 6 years and older. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.

It is available as Benicar and as generic olmesartan medoxomil tablets, including a combination tablet with hydrochlorothiazide. All of these products are used for high blood pressure.
