Turkey Corn and Apalutamide

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Apalutamide and Turkey Corn in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Apalutamide

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Apalutamide is filed under 6 classifications — including cytochrome p450 2c8 (cyp2c8) substrates, cytochrome p450 2c9 (cyp2c9) inducers, cytochrome p450 2c19 (cyp2c19) inducers. Turkey Corn has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being lithium (moderate) — and none of Apalutamide’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Apalutamide. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 11,688 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Apalutamide that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Turkey Corn’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Turkey Corn side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Turkey Corn has no side effects.

About Turkey Corn

What is Turkey Corn?

  • Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
  • Blood purifying or 'detox' tonic
  • Chronic syphilis (historical/traditional)
  • Digestive support
  • General tonic

Turkey Corn is a traditional North American plant remedy that was once used by herbalists for skin problems and as a so-called blood purifier. There is very little modern scientific evidence supporting any of these uses, and its safety has not been well studied, so caution is advised.

About Apalutamide

What Is Apalutamide Used For?

Brand name: Erleada

Erleada (apalutamide) is used to treat two types of prostate cancer. The first is metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) — prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and still responds to hormone-lowering therapy. The second is non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC) — prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard hormone therapy but has not yet spread to other organs.

Erleada is always used alongside a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog — a medicine that lowers testosterone — or in patients who have already had surgery to remove the testicles.
