Volumetrics Diet and Isoniazid

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Isoniazid and Volumetrics Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Volumetrics Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Volumetrics Diet at all — not against Isoniazid, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Volumetrics Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Isoniazid. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 16,103 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Isoniazid that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Volumetrics Diet’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Volumetrics Diet side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Volumetrics Diet has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Isoniazid page

“The liver does most of the worrying here. Isoniazid, a backbone of tuberculosis treatment, is already hard on the liver by itself, and 38 of the supplements on this list can add strain, from Siberian cocklebur, a major-rated entry, to everyday herbs like ashwagandha and black cohosh.”

Where does our data come from?

About Volumetrics Diet

What is Volumetrics Diet?

  • Weight loss
  • Weight management
  • Feeling fuller on fewer calories
  • Healthier eating habits
  • Reducing overeating

The Volumetrics Diet is an eating plan, not an herb or supplement. It focuses on choosing foods that are low in calories but high in volume—like vegetables, fruits, broth-based soups, and lean proteins—so you feel full while eating fewer calories. It is generally considered a balanced, safe approach to weight management, but results depend on consistency, and you should talk with a doctor or dietitian before starting any weight-loss plan.

Eating plan / dietary pattern (not a pill or supplement)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Volumetrics Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Volumetrics Diet record says about it on its own.

Volumetrics Diet: dosing

There is no pill, capsule, or standardized "dose" for the Volumetrics Diet because it is an eating pattern, not a supplement.Instead of a dose, the plan guides you to build meals around low-energy-density foods, fill about half your plate with vegetables and fruit, and limit high-calorie foods. They can help you follow the approach safely and realistically.

About Isoniazid

What Is Isoniazid Used For?

Brand names: Laniazid, INH, Nydrazid

Isoniazid is used to treat all forms of tuberculosis (TB) caused by susceptible bacteria. Because TB bacteria can quickly become resistant to a single drug, isoniazid must always be combined with other anti-TB medications when treating active TB — it is never used alone for active disease.

Isoniazid is also used as preventive therapy (sometimes called latent TB treatment) for people who have a positive TB skin test but do not yet have active disease. This includes people with HIV infection, close contacts of someone with active TB, recent TB skin test converters, and people with certain medical conditions — such as silicosis, diabetes mellitus, end-stage renal disease, leukemia, or Hodgkin's disease — that raise their TB risk.

Most-Reported Side Effects for Isoniazid

From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (16,103 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Fever 1,102 reports
Nausea 903 reports
Drug-induced liver injury 862 reports
Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms 744 reports
Vomiting 637 reports
