Here's some good news that should put your mind at ease. The malathion you're asking about (brand name Ovide) is a lotion you apply to your scalp to kill head lice. It isn't swallowed, so the concern about xanthan gum slowing down how a pill gets absorbed in your stomach really doesn't apply here.

This interaction on file is about oral medications, where xanthan gum's fiber gel can delay how fast a tablet moves through your gut.
