Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
1-Androl contains one active ingredient: 1-DHEA, a prohormone. Once you take it, your body converts it to 1-testosterone and other androgens — male-type hormones.
The product also contains inactive ingredients (propylene glycol, ethanol, and natural flavors) that help deliver the active compound.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence on whether 1-DHEA improves athletic performance isn't established in the data we hold — we have insufficient reliable evidence to rate it. That means studies so far haven't been strong enough to say whether it works for that purpose.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
1-DHEA is a hormone-altering compound with real health risks and very limited safety testing. The most common reported adverse effects are dyslipidemia (unhealthy cholesterol changes — increases in LDL of around 29 mg/dL and decreases in HDL of around 19 mg/dL), transaminitis (liver enzyme elevation), and renal dysfunction (kidney problems).
A 4-week study showed significant increases in serum creatinine and decreases in kidney filtration rate, with GFR dropping below normal range and suggesting renal impairment, though creatinine stayed within normal limits. 1-DHEA should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding because of its hormone-altering nature and unknown risks to the baby.

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
1-Androl is a prohormone supplement with very limited safety data and documented effects on cholesterol, liver enzymes, and kidney function. If you're considering it, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first — especially if you take any testosterone-based medications or have a history of heart, kidney, or liver problems.
