5-HTP, or 5-hydroxytryptophan, is a naturally-occurring amino acid and a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin. It is used as a dietary supplement to improve mood and help with anxiety, sleep disorders, and other conditions. It is also sometimes used in combination with other medications to treat migraines and fibromyalgia. | Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions |
- Directions: As a dietary supplement, start with a low dose of 1 capsule taken with a meal. Increase the dose slowly (every 3-5 days) up to a maximum of 4 capsules taken daily. Total daily intake should be divided into two or more doses, with no more than 2 capsules per dose.
