Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Adrenal 100 Cortex 75 contains 14 ingredients, including 6 active ones we can evaluate: ashwagandha, rhodiola, cordyceps mushroom, reishi mushroom, jiaogulan (gynostemma), and eleuthero. The product also lists three proprietary blends—AdPT, EDS, and Adrenal substance—whose individual components are not separately identified on the label, so we cannot assess their interactions or effectiveness.
Additionally, there are adrenal cortex tissue, thymus tissue, lymph tissue, and duodenal tissue; we hold no interaction or effectiveness data for these animal-derived substances. The product is filled with cellulose and water as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for the active ingredients is mixed and often limited. Ashwagandha is rated possibly effective for insomnia, anxiety, stress, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
Cordyceps and jiaogulan each have one effectiveness rating—cordyceps is rated possibly ineffective for athletic performance, and jiaogulan is rated possibly effective for diabetes. Rhodiola, reishi mushroom, and eleuthero all lack sufficient evidence in our data to establish effectiveness for any condition.
Most of the other uses listed in the research (altitude sickness, athletic performance, arrhythmia, cancer risk, and others) show insufficient reliable evidence to rate across these ingredients.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ashwagandha is well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, though quality and long-term safety data are limited; the safety notes advise avoiding it during pregnancy (it is traditionally thought to risk miscarriage) and while breastfeeding. The most common side effects are digestive—diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and gastrointestinal upset—but these do not occur commonly at typical doses.
Rarely, ashwagandha has been linked to acute hepatitis, acute liver failure, and hepatic encephalopathy. Rhodiola, cordyceps, reishi mushroom, jiaogulan, and eleuthero are each generally well tolerated short-term, though long-term safety is not well studied for any of them, and all should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Common side effects across these ingredients are mild: dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Protease (a proteolytic enzyme) may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions and should be avoided in pregnancy; there is little breastfeeding safety data.
Lipase is generally well tolerated in supplement form but should be used only under medical guidance if you have serious digestive conditions; safety data in pregnancy and breastfeeding are limited.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your pharmacist if you take medications that affect the liver or are broken down by the liver (especially cytochrome P450 enzymes: CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, CYP3A4 substrates), blood-pressure medications, blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelets), blood-sugar medications, digoxin, sedating drugs (CNS depressants or benzodiazepines), thyroid hormones, or immunosuppressants. The severity of these interactions ranges from Moderate to Minor, with the Moderate interactions being most concerning.
Use the search tool on this page to verify your specific medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is a broad botanical and enzyme blend that may appeal to people interested in stress, anxiety, or general adrenal support, though the evidence for most of those uses is weak or absent. If you take blood-pressure medications, blood thinners, immunosuppressants, diabetes medications, thyroid hormones, digoxin, or any sedating drugs, you should check your exact medications with the tool below before starting.

Adrenal 100 Cortex 75 by Professional Botanicals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Adrenal 100 Cortex 75 by Professional Botanicals contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is ashwagandha, which carries Moderate-severity interactions with hepatotoxic drugs (medications that can damage the liver)—ashwagandha itself has been linked to acute hepatitis, liver failure, and in rare cases, death from liver failure. Beyond that, this product affects a broad range of drug types across its six checked active ingredients.
Ashwagandha interacts with CNS depressants, blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), immune-suppressing drugs (immunosuppressants), anti-anxiety medications (benzodiazepines), blood sugar medications (antidiabetes drugs), thyroid hormones, and liver-metabolizing enzymes. Rhodiola adds interactions with antihypertensive drugs, several liver-enzyme systems (CYP2C9, CYP1A2, CYP3A4 substrates), the blood-pressure drug losartan specifically, P-glycoprotein substrates, immunosuppressants, and blood sugar medications.
Cordyceps, reishi mushroom, jiaogulan (gynostemma), and eleuthero each contribute additional concerns with blood thinners (anticoagulants and antiplatelets), immunosuppressants, and antidiabetes drugs—plus eleuthero has a documented case interaction with digoxin (a heart medication) and multiple liver-enzyme interactions. Altogether, these interactions span 1,477 individual medications.
