Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Partial disclosure
Advanced Cholesterol Formula has 4 active ingredients designed to support cholesterol and heart health. Tocomin Palm fruit Tocotrienols are a form of vitamin E; Heart Choice Phytosterol Concentrate contains plant sterols that may help lower cholesterol; natural Citrus Polymethoxylated Flavones are compounds from citrus; and OleaSelect Olive fruit extract comes from olives.
The capsules also contain inactive ingredients — cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, and silica — which help form and stabilize the tablet.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. Tocotrienols show possibly effective for diabetes, but the data on whether the formula actually lowers cholesterol is labeled possibly ineffective.
For olive extract, the evidence isn't yet established for conditions like osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, or infection prevention — we simply don't have reliable data. The phytosterol and citrus flavone ingredients don't have effectiveness ratings on file, so we can't say whether they work for any specific condition based on our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tocotrienols are generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety at supplement doses isn't firmly established. It's not recommended in pregnancy because there isn't enough safety data; during breastfeeding, avoid it unless your doctor says it's okay.
Olive extract is also well tolerated when taken orally in typical amounts, but concentrated supplements are less studied than the whole food. In pregnancy, avoid concentrated olive supplements without your doctor's approval; during breastfeeding, the same caution applies.
A small number of trial participants reported headache and stomach discomfort with olive extract.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs — warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, and similar medications — because tocotrienols may increase bleeding risk. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glancePartially disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This formula may be worth considering if you're looking for plant-based cholesterol support and don't take blood thinners. If you're on any anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, talk to your pharmacist first — the tocotrienols could theoretically raise bleeding risk.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and long-term use all warrant a conversation with your doctor or pharmacist before you start.

Advanced Cholesterol Formula by The Vitamin Shoppe Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Advanced Cholesterol Formula by The Vitamin Shoppe contains one ingredient with documented interactions: Tocomin Palm fruit Tocotrienols.
This ingredient may increase the risk of bleeding if taken with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel). The concern is theoretical in humans — it hasn't been reported as a real problem in people — but tocotrienols do inhibit platelet clumping in lab studies, so caution applies.

The other three active ingredients — Heart Choice Phytosterol Concentrate, natural Citrus Polymethoxylated Flavones, and OleaSelect Olive fruit extract — we either could not check or have no documented interactions on file. Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications. If you take any blood thinner or blood-clotting medication, run your specific drug through the checker below before starting this formula.

Tocomin Palm fruit Tocotrienols
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Concomitant use of tocotrienols with anticoagulant or antiplatelet agents might increase the risk of bleeding. However, this has not been reported in humans.
Taking tocotrienols orally inhibits experimentally-induced platelet aggregation in humans. Theoretically tocotrienols might increase the risk of bleeding if taken with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. However, tocotrienols 400-800 mg daily have been used with aspirin and/or clopidogrel for 1 year with no clear cumulative antiplatelet effects and no reports of bleeding.
