Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: riboflavin (also called vitamin B2). Riboflavin is a B vitamin your body uses to turn food into energy and keep your skin, eyes, and nervous system working well.
The product comes in tablet form, with dicalcium phosphate and vegetable cellulose as inactive ingredients to hold it together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for riboflavin supplements in our data. If you're thinking about taking this for a specific reason — like an energy boost or a particular health condition — it's worth talking with your doctor or pharmacist about what the evidence actually shows for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Riboflavin is very well tolerated overall; any excess your body doesn't use is simply removed in your urine. The most common side effect is dose-related nausea, and at higher doses (like the 400 mg used in some studies) you may notice bright yellow urine — that's the riboflavin itself and not harmful.
Rarely, diarrhea has been reported. Riboflavin is considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding at recommended amounts, since your body actually needs it at those times.
If you're pregnant or nursing and want to take a higher-dose supplement, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Tetracycline antibiotics are the main type to double-check before taking this product — riboflavin may reduce how well they work. Use the medication checker below to see if any of your prescriptions fall into this category.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take a tetracycline antibiotic (such as doxycycline or minocycline), clear this supplement with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — they'll let you know if timing matters or if you need a different antibiotic. Otherwise, riboflavin at this dose is generally well tolerated.
Talk with your own healthcare provider about whether B2 supplementation makes sense for you.
