What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Bamboo Leaf, Stem Extract. Bamboo extract is concentrated from the leaf and stem of the bamboo plant.
The product has no other listed inactive ingredients — it's the extract powder alone.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for bamboo extract's use in preventing tooth decay (dental caries) is insufficient. We don't have reliable data showing whether this supplement actually works for that purpose in people.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bamboo shoots eaten as food are generally well tolerated when properly cooked, but supplement safety isn't well studied. Raw shoots can be toxic because they contain cyanide compounds — however, boiling, fermentation, or steam drying removes this concern.
The facts note that bamboo shoots have rarely caused contact dermatitis in people who handled them topically. During pregnancy, there isn't enough safety data on concentrated bamboo supplements, so the guidance is to avoid them.
While breastfeeding, safety is also unknown; the data advises against concentrated extracts unless your doctor has cleared it. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your personal situation.

Moderate interaction found
If you take antithyroid drugs (medications for overactive thyroid), check the specific medication name with the search tool on this page before starting bamboo extract. Long-term use might strengthen these drugs' effects, risking an underactive thyroid.
