Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold for bamboo tabashir and dental caries (cavities) is insufficient to rate it — we don't have reliable data showing whether it works for that purpose or how well. If you're considering this for dental health, talk with your dentist or pharmacist about what the current evidence supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Properly cooked bamboo shoots are widely eaten as food, but supplement safety hasn't been well studied. Raw shoots can be toxic, so sourcing and processing matter.
Bamboo shoots contain cyanide compounds naturally, though proper boiling, fermentation, or steam drying removes the harmful hydrogen cyanide. There's not enough safety data on concentrated bamboo supplements in pregnancy — the evidence advises against using them during pregnancy.
Safety while breastfeeding is unknown; avoid concentrated extracts unless your doctor clears it. Rarely, bamboo shoots have caused contact dermatitis in some people.

If you take antithyroid drugs (medications that reduce thyroid hormone levels), check your specific medication name before starting this product — there's a moderate interaction concern around long-term use.
