Biostress-B has 4 active ingredients. Rice Bran is a whole-grain component with fiber and nutrients; Thiamine (Vitamin B1, supplied as Thiamine Pyrophosphate) is an essential B vitamin needed for energy and nerve function; Wheat Germ is the nutrient-rich embryo of the wheat kernel; and Primary Yeast is included for its nutrient profile.

Does it work?
Strong evidence
Rice Bran is possibly effective for managing abnormal blood lipids (dyslipidemia) but possibly ineffective for colorectal cancer prevention. Evidence is insufficient to rate it for hair loss (alopecia areata).
Thiamine is effective for thiamine deficiency and Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (a serious brain condition from severe B1 deficiency), and possibly effective for painful periods (dysmenorrhea), but possibly ineffective as a mosquito repellent or for heart failure. Wheat Germ and Primary Yeast have insufficient evidence in our data to establish their effectiveness for any condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Rice Bran is likely safe in pregnancy and lactation. When you start adding bran to your diet — including concentrated supplements — you may notice abdominal discomfort, gas, or changes in bowel habits for the first few weeks; these usually settle down.
Rare allergic reactions including swelling of the lips and throat (angioedema) or anaphylaxis have been reported. Thiamine is generally very safe by mouth and is needed in pregnancy and while breastfeeding; use it as your doctor advises.
Wheat Germ is generally well tolerated but carries contamination risks as a raw product and lacks established safety data in pregnancy and lactation — avoid it unless your doctor approves. Possible side effects include nausea, loss of appetite, and constipation.

Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking wheatgrass with antidiabetes drugs might lower blood glucose levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that taking wheatgrass stimulates the release of insulin from beta-cells and lowers blood glucose.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, wheatgrass might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that wheatgrass induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Thiamine Pyrophosphate
Trimethoprim (Proloprim)
Trimethoprim might increase blood levels of thiamine.
In vitro, animal, and clinical research suggest that trimethoprim inhibits intestinal thiamine transporter ThTR-2, hepatic transporter OCT1, and renal transporters OCT2, MATE1, and MATE2, resulting in paradoxically increased thiamine plasma concentrations.
