Caprobiotics Advanced Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Mt. Capra
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Caprobiotics Advanced against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Caprobiotics Advanced by Mt. Capra
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Caprobiotics Advanced contains 9 ingredients: five live probiotic bacterial strains (Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei), a heat-stable spore-forming probiotic (Bacillus coagulans), Streptococcus thermophilus, goat milk powder blend, and chicory. The probiotics are the active ingredients — these are beneficial live bacteria meant to support your digestive and immune health.
Goat milk powder and chicory are included for additional nutrition and prebiotic support (food for the good bacteria). The product also contains vegetable cellulose and rice flour as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotics is mixed. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation and IBS. For the other probiotic strains in this product — Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and Streptococcus thermophilus — the evidence isn't established in the data we hold; they're rated as insufficient evidence for the conditions they're studied for.
Chicory has insufficient evidence for all the conditions listed in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. That said, probiotics contain live organisms, so there's a theoretical concern they could cause infection in people who are seriously ill, immune-compromised, or have indwelling medical devices like central lines — this is rare in otherwise healthy people.
Chicory is generally well tolerated in food amounts but may cause gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort in some people. It can also trigger allergies in those sensitive to ragweed, daisies, and related plants.
The safety notes advise caution during breastfeeding for most of these ingredients because data are limited.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your exact medications before starting, especially antibiotics (Moderate interaction with four probiotic strains in this product) and blood sugar medication (Moderate interaction with chicory). If you're on either type, don't assume it's off-limits — just ask your pharmacist or doctor for timing guidance.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Caprobiotics Advanced may be worth considering if you're looking to support digestive health or manage IBS or constipation — that's where the strongest evidence sits. If you take antibiotics, space them apart from this supplement.
If you take blood sugar medication or are pregnant, breastfeeding, severely ill, or immune-compromised, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.

Caprobiotics Advanced by Mt. Capra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Caprobiotics Advanced by Mt.
Capra contains multiple live probiotic strains, and four of them interact with antibiotics. Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and Bacillus coagulans all carry a Moderate interaction with antibiotic drugs — the antibiotics may kill off the live organisms in the product, making the probiotic less effective.
You'll want to space out these two: take your antibiotic, finish the course, then start this supplement a few hours later, or ask your pharmacist for a specific timing plan.

One additional ingredient, chicory, interacts with antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications). It may theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when taken together, though this is based on animal research rather than human trials.
We couldn't check two ingredients in this product — Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, and CapraMilk — because we hold no data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 268 individual medications.
Before you start Caprobiotics Advanced, run your exact medications through the search tool on this page to see if any of them are affected.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Chicory
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, chicory might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research shows that chicory extracts have antidiabetic effects.
