What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Chaga Whole Mushroom Extract, Dry — a concentrated form of the chaga mushroom. The liquid formula also includes alcohol, water, and glycerin as inactive ingredients to preserve and deliver the extract.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have enough reliable evidence in our data to rate chaga for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or COVID-19. The research available so far isn't solid enough to say whether it actually works for these purposes in humans.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chaga is generally used in foods and teas, but human safety data are limited. A handful of risks have been reported: there are two documented cases of kidney failure and one case of acute kidney injury linked to very high chaga consumption — chaga naturally contains high levels of oxalate, which can be hard on the kidneys.
The safety data advises against using chaga during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, since there isn't enough information to know it's safe.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, clopidogrel, aspirin), immunosuppressants, or diabetes medications. Even though these interactions haven't been reported in people, the theoretical risk is real enough to confirm it's safe for you.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Chaga might be worth exploring if you're interested in traditional mushroom supplements, but if you take blood thinners, diabetes drugs, or any medication that suppresses your immune system, you'll need to check with your doctor or pharmacist first. Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Because human safety data are limited, it's wise to discuss this with your healthcare provider before starting.

Chaga by Hawaii Pharm Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chaga Whole Mushroom Extract by Hawaii Pharm does interact with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin, clopidogrel, and aspirin). Animal research suggests chaga may reduce how platelets clump together, which could increase bleeding risk if combined with these medications — though this hasn't been reported in people yet.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chaga may also interfere with drugs that suppress your immune system (used after organ transplants or for certain autoimmune conditions), and it could theoretically lower blood sugar too much if you're taking diabetes medications. Both of these effects are suggested by lab and animal research but haven't been documented in human users.
Altogether, these interactions span 327 individual medications. Before you start chaga, check your exact prescriptions with the tool below.
