Chaga Capsules Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Chaga Capsules against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Chaga Capsules by Real Mushrooms
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Chaga Extract, which includes beta-1,3/1,6-glucans — compounds found in the chaga mushroom. The extract also includes inactive ingredients (hypromellose, silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, and stearic acid) that help form and preserve the capsule.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Beta-glucans in chaga have been rated likely effective for dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides) and coronary heart disease. The evidence supporting these uses comes from clinical research showing that beta-glucans can improve cholesterol levels and heart-health markers in some people.
We don't have effectiveness data on file for chaga extract itself as a whole.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Beta-glucans from food sources are generally well tolerated, though concentrated supplement forms haven't been as thoroughly studied, so caution is advised. The most common side effect reported with topical beta-glucans was mild skin reactions or contact dermatitis.
One clinical trial of children and young adults at high dose (120 mg/kg daily) reported a single case of temporary liver enzyme elevation. There isn't enough research on beta-glucans at supplement doses during breastfeeding to know what's safe, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take immunosuppressants (drugs that weaken your immune system — Moderate concern) or antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications — Moderate concern). Beta-glucans may interfere with the former and lower your blood pressure further with the latter.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Chaga Capsules may help support cholesterol and heart health if you're interested in mushroom supplements. If you take blood pressure medications or immune-suppressing drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — the beta-glucans in this product could affect how those work.

Chaga Capsules by Real Mushrooms Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chaga Capsules by Real Mushrooms contains beta-glucans, which are documented to interact with two medication types.
The most serious is immunosuppressants (drugs that dampen your immune system), a Moderate interaction — beta-glucans may theoretically interfere with how these medications work, since some research shows beta-glucans can stimulate immune activity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications) also carry a Moderate interaction. Beta-glucans may reduce blood pressure in some people, so adding them to your blood pressure meds could theoretically increase the risk of low blood pressure (hypotension).
Altogether, these interactions span 293 individual medications. We don't have interaction data for the chaga extract itself — it's a blend, and we haven't checked its individual components beyond the beta-glucans we've already covered.
Before you start this product, use the checker below to run your exact medications through, or talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you.
