What’s inside
Full disclosure
ChewIT CBD Sour Rainbow Belts contain one active ingredient: sodium. Despite the product name, these gummies do not appear to contain a measurable CBD amount listed in the facts on file.
The product also includes several inactive ingredients—glucose-fructose syrup, wheat flour, malic acid, dextrose, palm oil, citric acid, artificial flavors, artificial color, turmeric extract, antioxidants, and Nutra99—which are fillers, binders, and flavor components.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Sodium's established uses are limited. It is likely effective for cystic fibrosis and possibly effective for preventing kidney damage from amphotericin B (an antifungal medication).
For bipolar disorder and congestive heart failure, the evidence is insufficient to rate sodium's effectiveness. Because this product is a chewable candy with added sodium rather than a targeted supplement, it is not a reliable way to address any of these conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Sodium is well tolerated in amounts up to the recommended daily limit (2.3 grams), but excess intake is linked to high blood pressure, heart strain, and kidney problems. In rare cases, too much sodium can worsen cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or kidney disease.
Population research has also linked high sodium chloride intake to increased gastric cancer risk and mortality. During pregnancy and lactation, normal dietary sodium is likely safe; however, the facts note a possibly unsafe rating for this ingredient during these periods.
There isn't enough data on file to clarify which specific uses or amounts fall into each category, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking ChewIT CBD Sour Rainbow Belts, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take lithium, blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), corticosteroids, didanosine, sodium phosphate laxatives, tolvaptan, or any other medications that contain sodium. All of these interactions are rated Moderate and involve changes to blood sodium levels or medication effectiveness.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
These gummies are mainly a sour candy with added sodium—they're not a serious supplement for any medical condition. If you take lithium, blood pressure medications, corticosteroids, or other sodium-sensitive drugs, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before eating them.
For everyone else, a few gummies won't hurt, but they're not a meaningful source of any beneficial nutrient, and eating too many could add excess sodium to your diet.

ChewIT CBD Sour Rainbow Belts by CBDXtreme Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ChewIT CBD Sour Rainbow Belts by CBDXtreme contains sodium, which interacts with a number of medications.
The most serious concern is with lithium (used for bipolar disorder): changes in your sodium intake can shift lithium levels in your blood, and too much sodium can lower lithium concentration while too little can raise it to toxic levels.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sodium also affects blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), corticosteroids, didanosine (an HIV medication), sodium phosphate laxatives, tolvaptan (a water-balancing drug), and any other sodium-containing medications. High sodium intake may reduce how well antihypertensives work and can increase the risk of dangerously high blood sodium (hypernatremia) when combined with corticosteroids, didanosine, tolvaptan, or sodium phosphate products.
All these interactions are rated Moderate in severity.
Although sodium is an essential nutrient in small amounts, these gummies deliver additional dietary sodium. If you take any of these medications—especially lithium or blood pressure drugs—check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this product.
Altogether, these interactions span 205 individual medications.

For each ingredient in ChewIT CBD Sour Rainbow Belts with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Sodium
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, a high intake of dietary sodium might reduce the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs.
High intake of dietary sodium can increase systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Also, high intake of sodium may necessitate increased use of antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure control in some patients, such as those with chronic kidney disease.
Corticosteroids
Concomitant use of mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids (corticosteroids) cause sodium retention. This effect is dose-related and depends on mineralocorticoid potency. It is most common with hydrocortisone, cortisone, and fludrocortisone, followed by prednisone and prednisolone.
Didanosine (Videx)
Concomitant use of didanosine with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Didanosine formulations contain a significant amount of sodium.
Lithium
Altering dietary intake of sodium might alter the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
High sodium intake can reduce plasma concentrations of lithium by increasing lithium excretion. Reducing sodium intake can significantly increase plasma concentrations of lithium and cause lithium toxicity in patients being treated with lithium carbonate. Stabilizing sodium intake is shown to reduce the percentage of patients with lithium level fluctuations above 0.8 mEq/L. Patients taking lithium should avoid significant alterations in their dietary intake of sodium.
Sodium Phosphates
Theoretically, concomitant use of sodium phosphate with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Use of high doses (> 45 mL in 24 hours) of sodium phosphate, such as those used for bowel cleansing before surgery, can lead to serious electrolyte disturbances, including hypernatremia. The risk of hypernatremia is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Sodium-Containing Drugs
Concomitant use of sodium-containing drugs with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia and long-term sodium-related complications.
The Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) intake level of 2.3 grams of sodium daily indicates the intake at which it is believed that chronic disease risk increases for the apparently healthy population. Some medications contain high quantities of sodium. When used in conjunction with sodium supplements or high-sodium diets, the CDRR may be exceeded. Additionally, concomitant use may increase the risk for hypernatremia; this risk is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Tolvaptan (Samsca)
Theoretically, concomitant use of tolvaptan with sodium might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Tolvaptan is a vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist that is used to increase sodium levels in patients with hyponatremia. Patients taking tolvaptan should use caution with the use of sodium salts such as sodium chloride.
