Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • “Choline Bitartrate” is listed as a grouped ingredient — the label gives one combined amount (650 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This supplement contains one active ingredient: choline bitartrate, which provides 650 mg per capsule. Choline is a nutrient your body uses to make and regulate acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in nerve and muscle function, and to support cell membrane structure.

The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose powder — which are fillers and binders.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Choline product and its label doesn't state a use — see Choline's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for choline's effectiveness is limited and mixed. It's rated possibly ineffective for athletic performance.

For age-related cognitive decline, Alzheimer disease, bronchitis, hay fever, and liver fat buildup during IV nutrition support (a medical condition), we don't have enough reliable evidence yet to say whether it works. If you're considering this for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist about what the current research actually shows for your situation.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Choline is generally well tolerated at normal doses. The safety data advises using supplements only under professional guidance during pregnancy and breastfeeding, since your choline needs change at those times — prenatal vitamins or supplement doses should be recommended by your doctor.

At very high doses (9 grams or more daily, well above this 650 mg capsule), choline can cause fishy body odor, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and sweating. The upper daily limit is 3.5 grams.

Minor only

Only Minor-severity interactions are documented for these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Choline.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • For scale: 16 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this product, check whether you take atropine (Minor interaction documented). If you take any other prescription medications, use the search tool below to confirm they're safe to combine with choline.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.

This supplement works best for people whose doctor or pharmacist has advised them to take choline for a specific reason — it's not a proven performance or brain-health booster based on current evidence. If you take atropine or other medications, check them against the interaction tool on this page before you start.

Talk with your own doctor or pharmacist about whether choline makes sense for your situation.

Choline Bitartrate 650 mg by NusaPure: Common Questions

Does Choline Bitartrate 650 mg by NusaPure interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Choline Bitartrate 650 mg has a known interaction with 16 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Choline Bitartrate 650 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is this safe to take while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
The safety data says choline is likely safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but your nutrient needs are different at those times. Prenatal vitamins or supplement doses should be advised by your doctor — don't start choline supplements on your own. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what dose, if any, makes sense for you.
Will this help my memory or prevent Alzheimer disease?
We don't have enough reliable evidence yet to say whether choline helps with age-related memory loss or Alzheimer disease. If you're interested in choline for brain health, your doctor or pharmacist can discuss what the research currently shows and whether it's right for you.

How much choline is in each capsule?
Each capsule provides 650 mg of choline bitartrate.
