Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: choline bitartrate. Choline is a compound your body uses to support nerve function, cell membranes, and brain chemistry.
The capsule itself is vegetarian, and the formula includes tri-magnesium citrate as an inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for choline's effectiveness is mixed and often incomplete. For athletic performance, the data suggests it's likely ineffective.
For Alzheimer's disease, age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, liver fat from intravenous nutrition (TPN-associated hepatic steatosis), and bronchitis, there isn't enough reliable evidence to say whether it works. If you're taking this for a specific health goal, talk with your doctor about whether the current evidence supports it for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Choline is generally well tolerated at typical food and supplement doses. At very high doses — above the upper daily limit of 3.5 grams — it can cause fishy-smelling body odor, and at doses of 9 grams or more daily, you may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sweating, or salivation.
Choline is considered likely safe during pregnancy and lactation, but your doctor should guide your dose, since your need for it is higher while breastfeeding and it's important during pregnancy.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Check whether you take atropine or other anticholinergic medications before starting this supplement. Choline may theoretically reduce how well atropine works in the brain.
Your pharmacist can tell you if any of your prescriptions fall into that category.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This single-ingredient supplement is a straightforward source of choline, well tolerated at normal doses and important for supporting brain and nerve function. If you take atropine or similar anticholinergic medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it.

Choline (Bitartrate) by Pure Encapsulations Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Choline Bitartrate by Pure Encapsulations has one documented interaction with a specific medication type.
Choline may theoretically reduce the effects of atropine (an anticholinergic medication used for certain conditions) in the brain. Animal research suggests that taking choline before atropine can lower brain levels of acetylcholine, which is how atropine normally works — so the two together might make atropine less effective.
