Chrysin Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Chrysin against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: chrysin, a naturally occurring flavonoid compound. It's a single-ingredient supplement in powder form with no other inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence backing chrysin's use is not yet established in the data we hold. The available ratings point to insufficient reliable evidence for anxiety, athletic performance, cancer support, HIV/AIDS, muscle strength, and gout.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means human studies either haven't been done or aren't robust enough yet to confirm benefit.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Chrysin is generally well tolerated in short-term use, but long-term safety hasn't been well studied, so we don't have a clear picture of how it behaves over months or years. The safety data advises against using it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding — there isn't enough information to know it's safe, so it's best to avoid it in those situations.
No specific side effects were reported in the data we reviewed.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking chrysin, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take estrogens or birth control pills (risk of reduced effectiveness), blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin or aspirin (increased bleeding risk), diclofenac or other NSAIDs (increased drug levels and side effects), aromatase inhibitors for cancer (possible amplified effects), seizure medications like mephenytoin, or any drugs metabolized by liver pathways CYP1A2 or glucuronidation. These are theoretical interactions based on lab evidence, not yet proven in people, but they're worth discussing before you begin.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Chrysin might appeal to someone looking for a natural anxiety or performance support, but the evidence for it isn't solid yet. If you take hormonal birth control, blood thinners, anti-inflammatories like diclofenac, seizure medications, or any prescription at all, you need to check your specific drugs with your pharmacist or doctor before starting — the interactions documented here are theoretical but concerning enough to warrant a conversation.

Chrysin by BulkSupplements.com Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chrysin by BulkSupplements.com does interact with several medication types, and the interactions are documented at Moderate and Minor severity levels.
The most serious concern is with estrogens and birth control pills — in vitro evidence suggests chrysin might block estrogen's effects, potentially reducing how well these medications work. The same antiestrogenic activity raises theoretical concerns with aromatase inhibitors (drugs used in hormone-sensitive breast cancer), which chrysin might amplify.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chrysin also appears to interfere with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin and aspirin) by possibly increasing bleeding risk through effects on platelet clumping. It may slow the breakdown of diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory), raising its levels and side effects.
Additionally, it theoretically affects the metabolism of mephenytoin (an older seizure medication) and drugs processed through certain liver pathways (CYP1A2 substrates, and drugs cleared by glucuronidation).
Alone, these are in vitro findings — not yet confirmed in people — but they warrant caution. Altogether, these interactions span 358 individual medications.
Before you start chrysin, check your exact medications with the tool on this page, and run the list past your doctor or pharmacist.

Chrysin
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro evidence suggests that chrysin might inhibit platelet aggregation.
Aromatase Inhibitors
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the effects and adverse effects of aromatase inhibitors.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might decrease estrogen synthesis by acting as an aromatase (estrogen synthetase) inhibitor..
Contraceptive Drugs
Theoretically, chrysin might reduce the efficacy of estrogen-containing contraceptive drugs.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might have antiestrogenic activity.
Diclofenac (Voltaren, Others)
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the effects and adverse effects of diclofenac.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate inhibit diclofenac metabolism. It is speculated that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate reduce the metabolism of diclofenac by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C9. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Estrogens
Theoretically, chrysin might decrease the effects of estrogen therapy.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might have antiestrogenic activity.
Mephenytoin (Mesantoin)
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the effects and adverse effects of mephenytoin.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin and its sulfate and glucuronide conjugates inhibit S-mephenytoin metabolism. It is speculated that chrysin and its conjugates reduce the metabolism of S-mephenytoin by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C19. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, chrysin might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin inhibits CYP1A2 isozymes. However, chrysin does not appear to inhibit CYP1A2-dependent caffeine metabolism in animals. Due to chrysin's low bioavailability and rapid metabolism to glucuronide and sulfate conjugates, this interaction is unlikely.
Glucuronidated Drugs
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the clearance of drugs that are UGT1A1 substrates, thereby reducing their effectiveness.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might induce UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1).
Testosterone
Theoretically, chrysin might increase the effects and adverse effects of testosterone.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate inhibit testosterone metabolism. It is speculated that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate reduce the metabolism of testosterone by inhibiting cytochrome P450 3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.
