Here's the thing to keep an eye on with this combo. The aspirin part of Synalgos DC already thins your blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. In test-tube studies, chrysin seems to do something similar, slowing down those same platelets. Stack them up and you could, in theory, see a little more bleeding tendency, think easier bruising, longer bleeding from a cut, nosebleeds, or rarely stomach bleeding.

Now, I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It's based only on lab work, not real patients, and your body barely absorbs chrysin to begin with. So the practical risk is probably low. Still, since you're already on aspirin, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding chrysin, especially if you bruise easily or take other blood thinners.

Theoretically, chrysin might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin inhibits CYP1A2 isozymes. However, chrysin does not appear to inhibit CYP1A2-dependent caffeine metabolism in animals. Due to chrysin's low bioavailability and rapid metabolism to glucuronide and sulfate conjugates, this interaction is unlikely.

Let's break this one down. This combo product (Synalgos DC) contains caffeine, which your body clears using an enzyme called CYP1A2. In test-tube studies, chrysin can slow that enzyme down, so in theory the caffeine could build up a bit and leave you feeling jittery, wired, or unable to sleep, with a racing heart.

Here's the reassuring part though: this is only lab and animal data, and in living animals chrysin did not actually change how caffeine was handled. Because your body absorbs very little chrysin to begin with, a real-world problem is unlikely. It also doesn't change the aspirin or the dihydrocodeine portions. Still, if you're caffeine-sensitive, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before combining them.
