Lamotrigine falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS — the group Chrysin interacts with.

Theoretically, chrysin might increase the clearance of drugs that are UGT1A1 substrates, thereby reducing their effectiveness.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might induce UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1).

Here's the gist with chrysin and your lamotrigine (Lamictal). Lamotrigine is cleared from your body mainly by a process called glucuronidation, using an enzyme called UGT. In test-tube studies only, chrysin seems to speed up one of these UGT enzymes. In theory, that could help your body clear lamotrigine a little faster, which might leave less of it working and could weaken your seizure (or mood-stabilizing) control.

I want to be honest about how flimsy this is. It's based on lab dishes, not people, and chrysin is barely absorbed when swallowed, so a real-world effect is unlikely. Still, since lamotrigine is one of those medicines where steady levels matter, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding chrysin, and don't change your dose on your own.

Chrysin is a plant flavonoid sold mainly as a bodybuilding supplement claimed to raise testosterone or block estrogen, but human studies have not shown these benefits, largely because the body absorbs very little of it. What Is Lamotrigine Used For?

Brand name: Lamictal

Lamotrigine is used to treat several types of seizures in adults and children aged 2 and older — including partial-onset seizures, generalized tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures, and seizures related to Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. In older teens and adults, it can also be used alone (monotherapy) after transitioning off another seizure medicine.

For adults with bipolar I disorder, lamotrigine is used as a maintenance treatment — meaning it helps delay the return of mood episodes like depression, mania, or mixed states. It is not approved to treat an active manic or mixed episode that's happening right now.
