Chrysin + Fluvoxamine
Fluvoxamine brand name: Luvox.
Chrysin has a minor interaction with Fluvoxamine. Theoretically, chrysin might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Fluvoxamine
Fluvoxamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Chrysin interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin inhibits CYP1A2 isozymes. However, chrysin does not appear to inhibit CYP1A2-dependent caffeine metabolism in animals. Due to chrysin's low bioavailability and rapid metabolism to glucuronide and sulfate conjugates, this interaction is unlikely.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for fluvoxamine (Luvox): your body relies partly on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to clear this medicine. In test-tube studies, chrysin can slow that same enzyme down. On paper, that could let fluvoxamine build up a bit, which might mean more of its usual side effects like nausea, drowsiness, headache, or trouble sleeping.
That said, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The concern comes only from lab dishes, and chrysin is barely absorbed when you swallow it, so very little actually reaches your bloodstream. In animal tests it didn't meaningfully block this enzyme. The real-world risk here looks low. Still, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor before adding chrysin.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Fluvoxamine page
“Fluvoxamine (Luvox), an SSRI used for OCD and depression, carries an interaction list that deserves genuinely careful reading. Two entries matter most: lithium, which alongside a serotonin-raising drug like fluvoxamine can tip toward serotonin syndrome, a dangerous excess of serotonin, and activated charcoal, which can soak up the medi…”

About Chrysin
What is Chrysin?
- Bodybuilding and testosterone support
- Anxiety and stress
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant support
- Prostate health
Chrysin is a plant flavonoid sold mainly as a bodybuilding supplement claimed to raise testosterone or block estrogen, but human studies have not shown these benefits, largely because the body absorbs very little of it. Evidence for its other proposed uses is mostly limited to laboratory and animal research, so its real-world value is unclear. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Fluvoxamine
What Is Fluvoxamine Used For?
Brand name: Luvox
Fluvoxamine is used to treat obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). OCD involves unwanted, repeated thoughts or images (obsessions) and repeated behaviors (compulsions) that cause distress or get in the way of daily life.
Fluvoxamine maleate tablets treat obsessions and compulsions in people with OCD, including children and adolescents ages 8 to 17. Fluvoxamine maleate extended-release capsules are also indicated for OCD; the capsule's own trial was in adults.

Fluvoxamine Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Fluvoxamine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Chrysin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
