Chrysin + Norgestrel
Norgestrel brand names: Ovrette, Orval 21.
Chrysin has a moderate interaction with Norgestrel. Theoretically, chrysin might reduce the efficacy of estrogen-containing contraceptive drugs.

CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Norgestrel
Norgestrel falls under CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS — the group Chrysin interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might have antiestrogenic activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about norgestrel: it's a progestin-only birth control pill, meaning it contains no estrogen at all. The concern on file with chrysin is mostly about estrogen-containing contraceptives, since chrysin can block the enzyme that makes estrogen and may act against estrogen in lab dishes. Because norgestrel doesn't rely on estrogen, that particular worry doesn't really line up with how this pill works.
On top of that, this caution is purely theoretical, based on test-tube research, not real people. There's no solid evidence chrysin weakens norgestrel or raises your pregnancy risk. Still, since reliable birth control matters, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding chrysin.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Norgestrel page
“Norgestrel (Ovrette) is a progestin-only birth control pill, so the biggest danger on this page is not a strange side effect but a pill that quietly stops working. That risk makes this a page for genuine vigilance.”

About Chrysin
What is Chrysin?
- Bodybuilding and testosterone support
- Anxiety and stress
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant support
- Prostate health
Chrysin is a plant flavonoid sold mainly as a bodybuilding supplement claimed to raise testosterone or block estrogen, but human studies have not shown these benefits, largely because the body absorbs very little of it. Evidence for its other proposed uses is mostly limited to laboratory and animal research, so its real-world value is unclear. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Progestin-Only (norethindrone) Oral Contraceptives
What Is Progestin-Only (norethindrone) Oral Contraceptives Used For?
Brand names: Ovrette, Orval 21
Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.
When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.

Norgestrel Is Linked to Lower Levels of 2 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Norgestrel as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Chrysin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
