Chrysin + Belzutifan
Belzutifan brand name: Welireg.
Chrysin has a minor interaction with Belzutifan. Theoretically, chrysin might increase the clearance of drugs that are UGT1A1 substrates, thereby reducing their effectiveness.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS
Why this applies to Belzutifan
Belzutifan falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS — the group Chrysin interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin might induce UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1).
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for anyone on Welireg (belzutifan): your body clears this medicine partly by attaching a sugar molecule to it, a process handled by an enzyme called UGT1A1. In test-tube studies, chrysin seems to rev up that same enzyme. In theory, that could mean your body clears belzutifan a little faster, which might make it slightly less effective at keeping your VHL-related tumors in check.
I want to be honest about how shaky this is. The concern comes only from lab research, not from people, and chrysin is barely absorbed when swallowed, so a real-world effect is unlikely. Still, belzutifan is a serious cancer therapy, so I wouldn't add chrysin without checking first. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist before combining the two.

- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Belzutifan page
“A drug like belzutifan (Welireg), taken long term to keep kidney and other tumors in check, only works if a steady amount reaches the blood, so I would be genuinely careful before adding supplements here. Most of the interactions on file shift how the liver clears the drug, through the CYP2C19 enzyme or the glucuronidation pathway, nud…”

About Chrysin
What is Chrysin?
- Bodybuilding and testosterone support
- Anxiety and stress
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant support
- Prostate health
Chrysin is a plant flavonoid sold mainly as a bodybuilding supplement claimed to raise testosterone or block estrogen, but human studies have not shown these benefits, largely because the body absorbs very little of it. Evidence for its other proposed uses is mostly limited to laboratory and animal research, so its real-world value is unclear. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Belzutifan
What Is Belzutifan Used For?
Brand name: Welireg
Welireg treats several serious conditions. In adults with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, it targets associated kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma), brain or spinal tumors (CNS hemangioblastomas), and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that don't need immediate surgery. It is also used in adults with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) — either after surgery to lower the risk of the cancer coming back (used with pembrolizumab or pembrolizumab and berahyaluronidase alfa-pmph), or as a single agent for advanced ccRCC that has already been treated with two other types of cancer drugs.
Welireg also treats pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma (PPGL) — rare tumors of the adrenal gland or nearby nerve tissue — in adults and in children 12 years and older when the tumor cannot be removed by surgery or has spread.
