Circulatory Health Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by GNC Mega Men
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Circulatory Health against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: trans-resveratrol, a compound from grape skins and red wine that's studied for heart and metabolic health. The capsule itself also includes inactive ingredients (microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, stearic acid, and several colorants) that help hold and deliver the resveratrol.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for resveratrol in circulatory and metabolic health is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for obesity and allergic rhinitis (hay fever), but possibly ineffective for cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol.
That means the research shows promise for weight and allergy symptoms but hasn't borne out benefits for heart or cholesterol markers in the studies we have.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Resveratrol is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses, but higher amounts can cause diarrhea, stomach upset, and loose stools. There's also one case report of a skin rash that cleared after stopping it.
The facts note that long-term safety at high doses isn't fully mapped out. For pregnancy, there isn't enough safety data for concentrated supplements — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you.
The same goes for breastfeeding: the data isn't there to say it's safe, so check with your provider before using it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check it with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) — resveratrol may raise bleeding risk. Also confirm with your provider if you take any drugs metabolized by CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP2E1, or CYP3A4 enzymes, because resveratrol can theoretically raise their levels, though human evidence is limited.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're interested in a supplement for weight, allergy symptoms, or general circulation, this resveratrol product has some evidence behind it for the first two. But because it can interact with your liver's drug-processing systems — especially blood thinners and drugs metabolized by CYP enzymes — you'll want to run it by your doctor or pharmacist against your current medications before you start.

Circulatory Health by GNC Mega Men Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
GNC Mega Men Circulatory Health contains trans-resveratrol, which interacts with a significant number of medications through several enzyme systems in your liver.
The most serious interaction is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or aspirin) — resveratrol may increase bleeding risk if you combine them.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Resveratrol can theoretically raise levels of drugs broken down by four major liver enzyme systems: CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, and CYP2E1. The CYP3A4 interaction is notable because in one study, high-dose resveratrol (3000 mg daily for 8 weeks) didn't actually shift drug levels enough to need dose changes — but lower doses in supplements haven't been tested this way.
CYP2E1 has human evidence: taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days raised one drug's peak blood level by about 54%.
Although these interactions are based on theory and limited human data, they affect how your body clears many common medications. Altogether, these interactions span 823 individual medications.

Trans-Resveratrol
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
