Full

Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • “Colostrum” is listed as a grouped ingredient — the label gives one combined amount (931 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This product contains 2 active ingredients: Lactoferrin and Immunoglobulins, plus Colostrum as a blend. Lactoferrin is a protein found naturally in milk and other body fluids; it plays a role in immune function and iron transport.

Immunoglobulins are antibodies that support immune response. The inactive ingredients — Medium Chain Triglycerides, Sunflower Lecithin, Silicon Dioxide, and HPMC — are fillers and capsule materials.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: enhance normal immune factors in bloodstream and GI tract.
  • We looked for evidence on: Respiratory tract infections, Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Helicobacter pylori, Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Gastroenteritis-associated nausea and vomiting, Sepsis — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Lactoferrin is rated "Possibly Effective" for Sepsis (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Lactoferrin is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Respiratory tract infections, Helicobacter pylori, Gastroenteritis-associated nausea and vomiting, and more.

The evidence is mixed. Lactoferrin is possibly effective for sepsis and pregnancy-related iron deficiency.

However, it's rated likely ineffective for reducing fetal and premature infant mortality, and likely ineffective for preventing necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a serious intestinal condition in newborns. We don't have effectiveness data on file for Immunoglobulins or the overall colostrum blend.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Lactoferrin is generally well tolerated at typical doses, though long-term safety data are limited. The most common side effects at standard doses are mild gastrointestinal issues — diarrhea or constipation — but they're less frequent than with other iron supplements.

At much higher doses of 7.2 grams daily, you may see more constipation, loss of appetite, fatigue, and chills. In newborns, rare cases of jaundice, bloody stool, and bowel problems have been reported in trials.

For pregnancy, the safety data aren't fully established — use only under medical supervision. For breastfeeding, while Lactoferrin occurs naturally in breast milk, the safety of taking supplements hasn't been well studied.

We don't have safety data on file for Immunoglobulins.
