Vitamin C
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Cranberry
Cranberries are a type of small, tart berry native to North America. They are a rich source of antioxidants, which are substances that help to protect cells from damage caused by harmful substances called free radicals. They are also a good source of vitamin C, fiber, and other nutrients. Cranberry dietary supplements contain concentrated cranberry extract or powdered cranberry fruit. They are often used to prevent or treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), as cranberries are thought to have certain compounds that may help to prevent bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract.

L. acidophilus
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a type of lactic acid-producing bacteria that is commonly found in the human gut, as well as in other areas of the body such as the mouth and vagina. L. acidophilus can also be found in fermented foods such as yogurt and kefir. It is commonly utilized in probiotic dietary supplements as it is considered a "friendly" or "beneficial" bacteria because it helps to maintain the balance of microorganisms in the body, and is purported to help improve digestion and boost the immune system. Some studies have suggested that L. acidophilus may also have a role in preventing and treating certain conditions such as diarrhea, vaginal yeast infections, and eczema.

Formula |
- Cran Flora is specially formulated to offer a comprehensive blend of highly concentrated Cranberry Powder, L. Acidophilus, and Ester-C in a convenient 2 a day dosage form. This unique combination promotes the health of the urinary tract and the intestines, while also supporting a healthy immune system. In just 2 vegetable capsules, Cran Flora provides the equivalent of 40,000 mg [40g] of fresh cranberries without the calories of juice!
- Cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon), are native to North America and are members of the same botanical family as bilberries and blueberries. They naturally contain the health supporting benefit of proanthocyanidins.
- Cran Flora, in addition to highly concentrated Cranberry Powder and Ester-C, provides L. Acidophilus, a natural probiotic (friendly bacterium), naturally found in the gastrointestinal tract, and in fermented foods such as yogurt. A large percentage of the body’s immune system is located in the gastrointestinal tract, and L. Acidophilus supports normal, healthy immune function. It is thought probiotics colonize the small intestine, and promote a proper balance of intestinal flora while encouraging a favorable environment for the absorption of nutrients. Additionally, this formula provides Ester-C, which is a buffered, non-acidic form of Vitamin C formulated to be gentle on the stomach.
